Rachel began her musical career, at the age of 16, studying classical voice under Irene Morden, who is multilingual, trained by Russia’s St. Petersburg State Conservatory, and a former vocal artist for Basel State Opera House in Switzerland. During Rachel’s first year of study, she competed in classical voice at Georgia State University for the Schmidt Youth Vocal Competition. Rachel then continued to compete vocally through out her high school career.
In 2014, Rachel performed in Georgia State University’s Harrower Opera Productions. She starred as a chorus member in the production of “Don Giovanni” and understudied the role of Puck in Britain's “Midsummer Night's Dream”.
Rachel continued her musical education in 2015 by participating in the Opera Breve Vocal Intensive hosted by Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. During this time, Rachel starred in the opera “Albert Herring” as Cis. She was also highlighted in a duet performance as Susannah singing “Sull Aria” from “The Marriage of Figaro” for a scene production. Rachel furthered her classical performance in the chorus for the production of Mozart's “The Magic Flute”.
Rachel has been taking classical voice lessons for over 8 years and is continuing her voice and piano studies under Irene Morden, a member of NATS and the Metropolitan Opera Guild. Rachel is planning to further her musical education by majoring in vocal performance at the University of Georgia in 2020.
