Enjoy The Sound of Music
The Greek Philosopher Plato once said "Music is a moral law. It gives soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination, charm to sadness, gaiety and life to everything. Nowadays many experts agree. There are numerous scientific studies that support the benefits of music such as Plato had expressed, especially in children and young adults.
I rummaged through the scores of material. I must have gone through hundreds of resources. One source, on the Internet, best illustrated the benefits of music in children and young adults by using four simple letters:
F-A-C-E
These are the first few notes children learn on the piano. Interestingly enough they also represent the benefits of teaming music.
F is for FUN
A Academic Achievement
C Character Development
E Expression
Music allows for plain old fun.
Music helps prepare the brain for advanced forms of thinking. Children and young adults are found to do better in other subjects such as reading, math and science (www.whymusic.com).
Music helps develop qualities of good character such as self esteem, self discipline, creativity, determination and teamwork. Participating in a musical activity where creation and performance takes place, gives children and young adults a sense of pride in accomplishment. "All but two Presidents of the United States had music lessons".
Creating music enables the expression of feelings and offers a healthy outlet for stress, anger and frustration.
As I sat there contemplating the research and studies done by universities and doctors, I realized that I am witness to a successful case study of my own, my daughter. She has been taking piano since she was six. I have seen how music classes have molded every area of her school and personal life. By far it is the best investment I have made for my child.
Choosing the right teacher and right school is also a very important factor. I was fortunate. I found them both in Buford. The Sound of Music on Buford Highway makes lessons affordable enough for me to be able to provide not only piano classes but voice lessons there too. They are professional, caring make children their number one priority. I think it's the best music school in Buford, 1 truly enjoy "The Sound Of Music".
